LW Businesses are NOT eligible for SBA loans at this time

Dear Lake of the Woods County Businesses,

This is correction to an earlier release from Lake of the Woods County Economic Development regarding Small Business Administration (SBA) Disaster Assistance. Unfortunately, at this time, only local non-profit community service entities, are eligible to apply for SBA disaster loans. We deeply regret the miscommunication and understand that this news will be disappointing after what’s already been a very difficult summer.

In the meantime, Lake of the Woods County will continue to lobby state and federal agencies to support recovery efforts in Lake of the Woods County. We recommend businesses contact Lake of the Woods County Emergency Management and report their uninsured losses. By doing this, the county and state can demonstrate to these agencies that additional disaster assistance is needed locally. As details become clearer, we will do our best to keep you informed.

If you have questions or need immediate assistance, Lake of the Woods County Economic Development is here to help and will connect you with available resources. For assistance with an application or if you have any questions, please contact EDA Director Ryan Zemek at (218) 760-4729 or ryan_z@co.lotw.mn.us

Best Regards,

Ryan Zemek

Economic Development Director
