Gregory S. Mosher, 58

Gregory Scott Mosher, age 58, of Ely, MN died on Friday, December 24th, 2021, in Ely.
Greg was born in Harve, Montana on August 17th, 1963, to Bill and Bea Mosher of Baudette, MN. Their family, including sister Pam and brother Glenn, moved around the U.S. as a military family for many years before settling in Williams, MN. There he graduated from Lake of the Woods High School.
In 1997 he married Jane Omerza and became a father to Kathleen. The family moved to Ely in 1999 where Greg spent the next 22 years camping, fishing, and riding the trails on his side-by-side. Greg was a helper and a hard-worker. He made friends everywhere he went; he was loyal, always taking care of the people and things he loved.
Greg was preceded in death by his grandparents and father-in-law Ronald (Barbara) Omerza. He is survived by his wife Jane, daughter Kathleen (Anthony) Recht, granddaughter Brooklyn Recht, parents Bill and Bea Mosher, sister Pam (Vern) Horntvedt, brother Glenn (Janette) Mosher, brothers-in-law Tom (Heidi) and Tim (Patty) Omerza; nieces and nephews Kelsey (Chase) Grinsteiner, Kyle (Erin) Horntvedt, Brianne (Derek) Eck, Ian and Sydney Mosher; Elliot, Evan, Eric, and Elizabeth Omerza; Alex (Tom) Graves, Sam (Donato) Rossi, Gabi Omerza; great-nieces and nephews Ty and Tate Grinsteiner, Anders, Lila and Calvin Horntvedt, and Colter and Tripp Eck. He was also close with Jane’s aunt and uncle Cindy and John Stene and their children, Daniel, Alexandra, Francesca, Roxanna, and Mathew.
Funeral services will be held at Kerntz Funeral home in Ely on Wednesday, December 29th. Visitation begins at 10:00am and services will be at 11:00. A reception will follow at the First Lutheran Church.
In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to Prospectors ATV Club and LOW Historical Society.
