From Carla: My much loved friend, Chris, is no longer with us, but she gave me this photo years ago. It shows me hoisting what was then the Canadian flag—it changed to the maple leaf the next year, in February 1965. Canada Day was just before the 4th, and because Baudette and Rainy River, Ontario were and are twin towns, they often shared the celebration.
