Benefit for Mike Hovde is Friday

The front window of the Northern Light Region office on Main Avenue is packed with items that have been donated for the benefit for Mike Hovde to be held Friday evening at the American Legion in Baudette.

A benefit will be held on Friday, July 8 for former NLR employee Mike Hovde.

Earlier this year, Mike was diagnosed with stage 4 adenocarcinoma, which is a type of cancer that develops in the lining of organs. He is currently undergoing bi-weekly treatments at the Joe Leuken Cancer Center in Bemidji.

The benefit, which will be held at the American Legion in Baudette from 5 to 7 p.m., will feature a fish fry, raffles, a silent auction and more. A display is currently up in the front window of the Northern Light Region. All proceeds will go to help Mike and Dale with medical and travel expenses.
