Janice “Jan” Younkin, 85

Janice “Jan” Younkin (née Buegler), age 85, passed away peacefully on December 11, 2025, in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She was born on July 31, 1940, in Spooner and was raised in Williams before moving to Minneapolis. It was there that she met the love of her life, Robert “Bob” Younkin, with whom she built a life centered on family and love.

Jan was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert; her children, Susan, Richard, and Scott Younkin; her parents, Edna and Walter Buegler; her siblings, lmerna and Gerry Buegler; and her brother-in-law, E. Dan O’Connell.

She is survived by her daughter Cathy and daughter-in-law Lisa; her cherished grandchildren, Mickey, Danielle (Andrew), Stephanie, Maggie, Derek (Erika), and Adam; along with her adored great-grandchildren Chanel, Cali, Willow, Eleanor, and Milo. Jan was also blessed to be a great-great-grandmother to Aubrey and Edward. 

Jan was a devoted mother, grandmother, caregiver, sister, and friend. She took great pride in her work as a Payroll Supervisor at Koch Trucking, where she dedicated many years of service. Outside of work, she found joy in her bowling league, ceramics, and most of all, raising her family alongside her husband.

Known for her sassy personality, quick wit, and sarcastic humor, Jan was truly the life of the party. She had a special gift for making people laugh and leaving lasting memories with everyone she met. Above all, she loved her family deeply and always did the best she could for those around her.

Jan will be remembered for her strength, humor, and unwavering love for her family. She will be deeply missed and forever held close in the hearts of those who loved her.
