Federal government marks Juneteenth Day on Monday

Juneteenth Day, which commemorates the end of slavery, is now a federal holiday. It is June 19. Because it falls on Sunday this year, the holiday will be observed on Monday. Federal offices and some businesses will be closed, while state and local offices and most businesses will be open.

Here is a look at what we know will be open and closed.

Closed: Post Office, Border Bank, Farm Service Agency, Natural Resource Conservation Service, DNR Fisheries and Wildlife and DNR Forestry

Open: City of Baudette, Lake of the Woods County, City of Williams, Baudette Public Library, Lake of the Woods County Ninth District Court, RiverWood Bank, Soil and Water Conservation District, U.S. Customs and Border Protection - Baudette Port of Entry and Lake of the Woods County Museum.
