Robert (Bob) Jenson of Rainy River, Ont.
October 21, 2025 (64 years old)
It is with profound sadness that the family of Robert (Bob) Jenson announces his sudden but peaceful passing on October 21, 2025, at the age of 64.
Bob was born on July 25th, 1961, in Rainy River, Ontario, to Bette Carpenter and the late Clifford Jenson.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife Robin of 40 years, their two sons Jordan and Brady (Jenna Yeo), his mother Bette Carpenter, granddaughter Ellie, brother Berne (Marilyn), sister-in-law Brenda Duick, and numerous nieces, nephews, great nephews and nieces, and cousins—many of whom were like siblings to him.
Bob was predeceased by his father, Clifford Jenson; his special uncles, Carl and Eddie Jonassen; his father-in-law, Morry Nordine; his mother-in-law, Janice Nordine; and his sister-in-law, Carla Hanson.
Bob was a man of countless talents and an unmatched work ethic. Gifted with the natural ability to fix, build, and create just about anything, he poured his heart into every project. One of his proudest accomplishments was building his family home from the ground up—using lumber he and his dad milled themselves from trees they cut down locally. With help from a handful of relatives, Bob and Robin built not only their dream home but a place for family gatherings filled with love and laughter. Attached to it was Robin’s salon, where she could work while raising their boys—a true reflection of the partnership and teamwork they shared.
Bob’s creativity and skill also lived on through his sons. Together, they built an indoor skatepark in an attached room of the home, which later became a music studio for Jordan and Brady’s band. Though the music may not have always been his favourite style, Bob was their biggest fan.
For nearly 40 years, Bob and his family spent treasured time at the family island—fishing, relaxing, and making lifelong memories. He taught his sons to fish as soon as they could hold a rod, and his love of fishing led him to compete in local walleye tournaments, satisfying his lifelong competitive spirit after moving on from stock car racing in Emo and go-kart racing on the track he, his family, and friends helped build on his property.
Bob dedicated 32 years to the Town of Rainy River, where he proudly served as Town Foreman, beginning with schooling to become a certified electrical lineman and later earning certification in water treatment/wastewater management. Even after retiring in 2021, he continued to visit his “work family” and maintained the strong friendships he had built over the years.
Bob will be remembered for his integrity, quick wit, loyalty as a friend, his love of family, and his smoked brisket and ribs, which will be his lasting legacy.
In keeping with Bob’s wishes, there will be no formal funeral. Instead, a celebration of his life with family and friends will be held at a later date—a true reflection of Bob’s spirit, surrounded by laughter, stories, and the people he loved most.
