Lucy Ninnemann, wife of the late Thomas (Tom) William Ninnemann, was born in the forestry cabin south of Baudette, MN. She was the 4th of 7 children to William and Rose (Guss) Menke. Growing up in the area, she graduated from Baudette High School and continued her education at St. Catherine University in St. Paul, MN, graduating with a degree in nursing.
Lucy married Tom Ninnemann and began working as a registered nurse at Anchor Hospital in St. Paul, MN and the Veterans Hospital in Minneapolis. Lucy and Tom acted as foster parents every summer until adopting their 4 children: Francis, William Joseph (Joe), Barbara and Juliene (Julie). Lucy took a break from nursing to raise her children, and then returned to nursing for 18 years before retiring and volunteering to care for the Sisters of Immaculate Heart of Mary for an additional 17 years.

Phillip & James Church’s thrift shop, tending to the pond at her home in West Chester, PA - and the many ducks that lived in it, and listening to her granddaughters play cello and violin. Lucy was also very fond of sewing, gardening, and a well-made Brandy Alexander.

Lucy is survived by her 4 children, Francis and Marijane Ninnemann of St. Louis Park, MN and their 3 children, Gina (Ninnemann) Moore, Tim and Kristine Ninnemann, and Davis Ninnemann; William Joseph and Carole Ninnemann of Pembrookedock, Wales and their 3 children Joshua Ninnemann, Avery Ninnemann and Dustin Ninnemann; Barbara Ninnemann of Malvern, PA and her daughter Michele Genzano; Juliene (Ninnemann) Featherman and Mark Featherman of Philadelphia, PA and Julie’s daughters Lucille Ebner and Frances Ebner; and 5 great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
