Evangelical Covenant Church to Hold Fundraiser

The Evangelical Covenant Church of Baudette will hold a fundraising auction on Saturday, May 14, 10:00 a.m. at the church located at 1041 Main St East, just east of Timber Mill Park. Furniture, household items, roofing gun, collectables, and many more items will be included. The auction is being held to raise funds for needed church building updates. Doyle James of James Auction is donating his services toward this fundraiser.

SkyWarn Spotter Class

A SkyWarn Spotter Training Class will be held on Tuesday, May 17 at the Baudette Ambulance Garage from 6 to 9 p.m. The ­SkyWarn Spotter Class is designed as both an informational class for the general public, and certification training for the serious SkyWarn Spotter. The class runs about 2 hours in length and covers in basic terms what severe weather is, how it develops, and how severe storms generally behave.

Back Home Days Meeting

There will be a Back Home Days meeting on Thursday, May 19th at 7:00 p.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Williams. The purpose of the meeting is to determine if there is enough interest and support to continue Back Home Days. We need your help and more young people to step up if we are going to continue this tradition. Please attend this important meeting and voice your opinion and offer your support.

Lake of the Woods Historical Society

Annual Meeting

The public is invited to attend the meeting of the Lake of the Woods County Historical Society at their annual meeting on Friday May 20 starting at 5:00 p.m. at the Baudette Moose Lodge. This year the evening will begin with a catered meal, for which registration is required, as we will be able to serve a maximum of 75 people. To register for the dinner portion of the meeting, please call Lindsay by Monday May 16 at 634-1200. If you just want to attend the meeting and program portion, which will start at 6:00, there is no need to register

A celebration will be held in honor of Phil & Joyce Olson’s 50th wedding anniversary on Saturday, May 21 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at their home at 683 School Forest Road SW, Baudette.

Lake of the Woods Food Shelf Distribution

May 19, June 23

Food distribution starts at 2:00 p.m. and runs until 4:00 p.m. in Baudette at the Lighthouse 106 2nd St. NE. Please come to the west end by the parking lot. Baudette Flag Fund

The flag in Baudette next to Willie Walleye is replaced two to three or more times per year, costing $500 each time. Anyone wishing to donate to a fund to keep Old Glory flying can get more information by calling Chuck Tischart at 218-634-2078.

The Triple A Booster Club meets on the third Wednesday of the month at 5:30 p.m. at the Commons at Lake of the Woods School.
