James H. Burns, 93

James H. Burns, Sr, age 93 of St. Paul and Baudette, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on April 22, 2022 in St. Paul. Jim was preceded in death by his wife, Lois and daughter, Katie. He is survived by his children, Deborah Burns (John Amundsen) of Rainy River, Jim Jr. (Jay Blanchard) of St. Paul, Sharon Wies (Clif) of St. Paul, 9 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Jim worked at Kruger’s Inc. in St. Paul and was president of the corporation before retirement. He married the love of his life, Lois in 1950. They built a home in St. Paul where they raised their four children. They built their dream log home on the Rainy River in Lake of the Woods County in 1982. Jim enjoyed fishing, hunting and snowmobiling. He loved having his family and friends around sharing his many stories and jokes, especially at his famous St. Patrick’s Day Open House every year.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Peter’s Historic Catholic Church in Mendota, MN on May 20 at 11 a.m., with visitation at 10 a.m.
