Candlelight Ski and Snowshoe at the School Forest
The LOTW School Forest Committee is hosting its Annual Candlelight Ski and Snowshoe Event at the ALELA School Forest on Wednesday, March 16 from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m.
String Art Class
A String Art Class will be held on Saturday, March 19 at 10 a.m. at the Roosevelt Legion Hall. Both kids and adult designs will be available to choose from. The price for kids is $20 and adults are $45. Contact Brittany at 701-590-2659 to pre-register by March 16. This event is a fundraiser for the Roosevelt Playground Project.
Bantam AA State Tournament
The Bantam AA State Tournament will be held on March 18 through 20th at the Lake of the Woods International Arena. The Arena welcomes anyone who wants to come out and watch. Prices for admission are:

Adult Pinewood Derby

L/W Class of 2022— Dollars for Scholars Reminder
Beginning March 14, 2022 Lake of the Woods Dollars for Scholars®, a Program of Scholarship America®, will be accepting scholarship applications for the graduating class of 2022. Applications and instructions are available on the website www.lakeofthewoods.dollarsforscholars.org. To be eligible for consideration, completed applications must be submitted no later than March 31, 2022. Don’t delay, this process takes time and effort. You must first create your student profile, then apply and submit your completed online application by the assigned deadline.
Northwest Minnesota Foundation to Host Community Connections Events
The Northwest Minnesota Foundation is hosting two upcoming free events in Baudette with the goal of hearing from its neighbors throughout the region. Events are scheduled to be held from 5:30 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, March 24, at the AmericInn and from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 25, at the AmericInn.
L/W DFL County Convention
The Lake of the Woods DFL County Convention will be held at 2:00 on Sunday, April 24 at the Brink Center. We will be inviting the Candidates for House District 2A and Senate District 2. Alan Roy has decided to run for Senate again. Reed Olson(Beltrami County Commissioner from Bemidji) has entered the race for House 2A. We will update as more candidates emerge.
