RESOLUTION NO. 2023-09

A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING SUMMARY

PUBLICATION OF ORDINANCE 114

WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Baudette has adopted Ordinance 114, titled “AN ORDINANCE AMENDING TITLE XI OF THE BAUDETTE CITY CODE BY CREATING A NEW CHAPTER 114 REGARDING EDIBLE CANNABINOID RETAIL LICENSES”; and

WHEREAS, in the case of lengthy ordinances or those containing charts or maps, Minnesota state law allows the City Council to approve, by a four-fifths vote, the publication of an ordinance by title and summary only; and

WHEREAS, the expense to publish the complete six-page text of the ordinance is not justified; and

WHEREAS, the following summary clearly informs the public of the intent and effect of the ordinance.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Baudette, Lake of the Woods County, Minnesota, that the following summary is hereby approved for publication:

SUMMARY PUBLICATION

ORDINANCE NO. 114

The City Council of the City of Baudette has adopted Ordinance 114, titled “AN ORDINANCE AMENDING TITLE XI OF THE BAUDETTE CITY CODE BY CREATING A NEW CHAPTER 116 REGARDING EDIBLE CANNABINOID RETAIL LICENSES”. The ordinance establishes a city licensing program for businesses in the city that seek to sell tetrahydrocannabinol products that otherwise meet the requirements to be sold for human or animal consumption under Minnesota Statutes, section 151.72. The full text of the ordinance is available for inspection at Baudette City Hall during regular business hours.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Baudette, Lake of the Woods County, Minnesota, that the City Clerk keep a copy of Ordinance 114 at City Hall for public inspection during business hours and post a full copy of the ordinance in a public place in the City.
