Rudy Cauble

Rudy Wayne Cauble was born on February 3, 1944, in Chicago, Illinois, to Alfred and Lorraine Cauble. He joined a brother, Larry, at home.
He attended school in Chicago until he moved to Baudette with his mom and dad. They built the Riverview Resort. That is where Rudy spent his high school years growing up with the lakeroad kids. His best friend was Bill Mattison. Rudy and Bill both played football and Baudette High School had a pretty good team. These young men were known to go duck hunting before school. Rudy graduated from Baudette High School in 1962.
After high school Rudy moved to Chicago, but quickly found out that he did not want to be there. He joined the Army and was discharged in 1966. While in the Army he was stationed in Germany where his mother and Aunt Cleta got to visit. He also served a tour in Vietnam.
He returned home with the goal of becoming a state trooper. Instead he joined the Air Force in 1968. He served eight years in the Air Force. Rudy was stationed at a number of bases in the states as well as Japan and Germany again. He married Joyce Kilde and adopted Roxanne. His daughter, Denelle, was born in Japan.
Later he married Pam Westover and had two children, Allen and Crystal. After their divorce Rudy married the love of his life, Jane Worden. Together they created memories with travel and dogs and day to day life, treasuring the love that they shared. They went to Australia when Jane retired. His favorite activity was snorkeling at the Great Barrier Reef. They also went to Hawaii and to the Black Hills and Deadwood. They went to California, Disney World, and Las Vegas with the two kids. Rudy and Jane tried traveling in a camper, but they were not very good at it. They did make a stop in Tombstone which they both loved. They went on a cruise and to Mexico which Rudy did not like. They made many trips to Las Vegas and to Laughlin together.
Rudy loved his family - his wife, children, grandchildren, step-grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. His last great-grandson was just born. Rudy truly loved to educate them in the fine art of hunting and fishing as well as any other knowledge about life. He was always there if they needed him.
Rudy enjoyed playing Texas Hold‘em or any card game, shooting pool, bowling, reading, watching wildlife, playing Ping-Pong, riding his motorcycle, doing puzzles in the winter, going to the casinos, having a good beer, being with his dogs, and always doing the handy man work.
Rudy had a number of jobs in the Baudette area. He drove truck for Marvin’s, helped at Pieper farms, owned the Sears store, bartended, worked at the grocery store, and drove launch for Riverview Resort. He also worked the propane truck at Lakes Gas.
Rudy was preceded in death by his parents; his brother Larry; and his grandson Jacob; as well as many uncles, aunts, cousins and his mother-in-law Golden Deer Worden. Rudy is survived by his wife Jane; his daughters Roxanne (Dominic) Sprecco, Denelle (Randy) Hilliard, Crystal Cauble (Bradley), and his son Allen Cauble (Jennifer). He is also survived by his grandchildren Cody, Serina, Dommie, (Kerry Ann) Jared, Madison (Luke), McKenna, Lila, Maleena, Dylan, Annika, and Mikkel; his great-grandsons Chase, Rylan and Lake; and his sisters-in-law Donna Cauble, Dixie (Jim) Mott, Lynn (John) Cloutier, and Connie (John) Munson.
