Jerry Krohn Sr., 83

Jerome “Jerry” Alexander Krohn Sr. passed away on September 6, 2022, at home. Jerry was born April 19, 1939 in Thief River Falls MN to Alexander and Gladys (Greenley) Krohn. Jerry was confirmed at Bethany Lutheran Church in Williams and later in life served many years on the church council. He graduated from Williams High School in 1957.

Jerry married Sharon Knutson on December 11, 1957, at Bethany Lutheran. Jerry farmed his whole life. He raised sheep and beef cattle, and grew grass seed, grain and beans. For many years he logged in the winter months. Jerry loved to sing and to share jokes.

Jerry enjoyed turning diamond willow trees into works of art, and created unique yard ornaments by welding together discarded machinery parts. He loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter, trapper and fisherman. He also loved to watch hockey.

Jerry is survived by his wife Sharon; daughters Joanne (Steve) Ballard, Darcy Schatz, Amy Krohn; sons Jerome, Rod (Tracey), Dusty (Rita) and Jason (Jessica); 19 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren; sisters Muriel Olson and Sue (Dany) Ekre; brothers & sisters-in-law Jeanne Schneider, Betty (Richard) Schnuckle, Ken Knutson, Roger (Teresa) Knutson, Wanda (Reid) Bevis, Phyllis (Buck) Kendig. He is also survived by more than 50 nieces and nephews.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents Alex and Gladys; brothers-in-law Donovan Olson, Dennis Knutson, Wally Knutson, John Schneider; sisters-in-law Arline Knutson, Audrey Knutson, nephews Rick and Kim Knutson and Paul Schneider. Jerry was also preceded in death by his infant granddaughter Jayden Krohn.

A Funeral Service for Jerry Krohn was held at Wabanica Lutheran Church in Baudette on Monday, September 12 at 10 a.m. with a visitation an hour prior. Interment will be held at Zippel Hillside Cemetery.
