by To the editor, Pete Stauber must go! Vote for Jan Schultz, a four term state representative who has a 100% AFL-CIO voting record! The Inflation Reduction Act fights inflation by taxing large wealthy corporations, yet benefits all of us. As to Seniors, no person on Medicare will pay more than $2000 for their prescription drugs and Medicare can now negotiate with drug companies. As to every worker, tax rebates will be used on all sorts of energy reduction investments for our homes. In addition, the rebates on electric cars bought, used and new, will begin to make electric cars affordable and cheaper to operate than gas and help save our environment from global warming. Of course, Congressman Stauber voted to protect the wealthy from paying their fair share to the detriment of our Seniors, workers, and all our children and grandchildren. Stauber says he supports: • Labor, but voted against protecting the right to organize, form a Union and collectively bargain (HR842). • jobs, but voted against union jobs fixing Minnesota’s decaying roads, ports, bridges, and airports and even expanding rural broadband (HR 3684); • working families, but voted against affordable child care and quality preschool and tax cuts for struggling workers (HR5376). I was a prosecutor for over 35 years. However, most importantly, Stauber, a retired cop, voted against investigating the January 6 coupe attempt which injured and killed law enforcement protecting Congress and Vice President Pence. Everyone has an obligation to protect and defend our Constitution and Laws. We can do so by voting against Stauber and for Jen Schultz. Joe Boyle International Falls
